Bonnet Catch Adjustment

The bonnet on the ZA that I am restoring didn't want to open after I had fitted the radiator grille, despite it opening fine as a bare bonnet.
Initially suspecting a bonnet pin and latch alignment issue I revisited that a couple of times without success but then realised that the only thing that had changed was the (not insubstantial) weight of the grille.

Strapping the bonnet pull back then not only confirmed the pin alignment was fine but also showed the spring was not strong enough to lift the combined bonnet/grille assembly. I therefore pre-tensioned the spring slightly with a washer - see picture - and afterwards all was well
