Attached the instructions from the owner's handbook showing the pull handle under the dash and the safety catch behind the bottom of radiator grill.

The hood should rise by an inch or two when you pull the loop handle to give you sufficient room to move the safety catch.

If this doesn't happen then it could be that the rod linkage from the pull handle has become disconnected.

Thanks a lot for replying. Unfortunately, I am still having trouble finding this handle and am unsure where the safety catch would be. I did find a handle that was kind of looped but was more in the middle and didn't do anything as far as I could tell. I should mention this car was made for the American market and thus the steering is on the left, so not sure if that changes the location of the handle.

On the ZB there is a looped handle above the front parcel shelf, and should be on the passenger side of the car nearer the door, that you pull.
This allows you to lift the bonnet/hood a couple of inches until it meets the safety catch that is below the grille. This has to be moved sideways to release the hood/bonnet.

I've inherited a Magnette from my father, and need to take a look into the hood. I am completely stumped as to how to open it. Please help!
