Thanks David for starting this thread - hope others can add to it. I must have first spoken to Lou fairly soon after buying my car, and discovered she already knew more about it (and previous owner Tony Sanger) than I did ! Fortunately over the years I stayed on her good side, with only the occasional ticking off, although it was touch and go latterly when trying to persuade her along to Register events, and she did point out a couple of times that the original black interior in my blue Varitone was actually the 'wrong' colour...

I loved her story about transporting a Hereford calf in the back of her Magnette, after removing the seat of course, and her unshakeable assertion that she'd reached 100mph with a stock engine, in the days before speed limits, although she would add that it was only possible with 'proper five star petrol'. Condolences to John and the family - she'll be missed by all.

I had the privilege of meeting Lou and John on only a couple of occasions, once over in Norfolk & once at an Anniversary meeting. She was a delight to deal with (a bit fierce sometimes!)with an encyclopaedic knowledge...particularly of cars that went through the their workshop!
She will be sorely missed, a real character.
Our condolences to John at this sad time.
