Anyone been down this route?
Modern Radials vs. old style narrow cross plies give a significant increase in effort when manoeuvring I find.
Looking around electric PAS from a scrap Punto seems to be a favourite with several Classic cars, but needs some of its electronic trickery connecting up. The steering column has to be really well tied down of course as it is taking a greater load, and of course the rack & everything else has to be in good order.
