Hi.
Driving into a roundabout the other day, I dropped the revs to tick-over and the engine cut out totally. No ignition warning light, no response to me pressing the starter button. Fortunately, a nice chap helped us push it out of the way. Nothing obvious seen, and the fuses were OK. Just to get us going I put a temporary short in the fuse box so that the "always on" side of things was connected to the ignition side. With the ignition live again, the starter worked and we were off. Now that the Maggie is in the garage I've looked at the wiring and am pretty sure that I have a Control Box issue. Turning the ignition key doesn't illuminate the ignition lamp. Nor do the lights work. If I disconnect wire 36 from Control box terminal A1 and connect the end of wire 36 to a positive feed everything works as it should - lights, ignition lamp, starter.
Is this something others have seen? Do I have a faulty Control Box? How can I check?
Many thanks.
Bill
